Holiday Accommodation

Self Catering Holiday Lodge
 Lakeland Lodge
Luxury Pine Lodge at the Gateway to the
Lake District and Yorkshire Dales

Local Area

The lodge is less than 30 minutes drive away from Windermere, in the heart of the Lake District, and a short drive away from the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Both of these places offer a wealth of outdoor activities.
In the other direction, again just a short distance from the lodge, are the picturesque Lune Valley and the Forest of Bowland, which are areas of outstanding natural beauty.
Other areas of outstanding natural beauty, practically on the door step of the lodge are Silverdale and Arnside. The Leighton Moss RSPB Reserve at Silverdale has nature trails and bird hides, as well as a program of events throughout the year.
Nearby is the town of Carnforth, made famous by the film “Brief Encounter”, the historic city of Lancaster, and the attractions of Morecambe Bay. A little further away is Blackpool with its famous illuminations.

Leisure Activities

There are many excellent walks and cycle ways in the immediate area around the lodge. Also, its location between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks, as well its location near the coast, make it an ideal place from which to enjoy a wide variety of routes, for all abilities, in a very varied landscape.
All sorts of water sports are available in the surrounding countryside. Non-motorised activities such as canoeing and rowing are available on the lake within the village itself and fishing is also available nearby.
Within a short drive from the lodge are many golf courses. Silverdale, Morecambe, Heysham, Bentham and Lancaster, to name just a few.

Shopping

There are two supermarkets and a varied selection of town centre shops in nearby Carnforth.
